Dark Skies' internet release was on August 12th 2001.

It was hosted at theforce.net and was a 75MB file.

After countless UK friends couldn't download a file that large, my wife decided to hire a cinema and show Dark Skies there.

The son of one of the invitees was a reporter.

He thought it would make a good story. Apparently, so did a few others.
